Teenage Unemployment Rate at Illinois Soars High at 27.5%


Nearly 18,000 jobs for teenagers in Illinois have been lost for this summer. It means that the teenage unemployment rate in this state has reached 27.5%. Officials and analyst attributed this to large cuts on the federal government stimulus funds. A few of this unemployed teen has talked to local elected officer to discuss this concerns. Experts says that the nation’s high unemployment rate has forced older work forced to take entry jobs that are supposedly targeted for teens summer jobs. Now several hundreds of teenagers are eagerly looking for jobs to no avail, employment that they would need to save for their tuition, food expenses and save them from homelessness. District of  Chicago State Representative Maria Antonia Berrios pledged to help jobless teenagers.
